Polash Expresses Joy Over Noakhalis New Franchise
The upcoming 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) has sparked fresh excitement with the introduction of a new franchise from the Noakhali division, the Noakhali Express. For the first time, the franchise has appointed popular actor Ziaul Haque Polash as its brand ambassador. Today, at a hotel in Dhaka, the team formally announced the partnership and outlined its future plans and objectives following the signing of the official agreement.
Earlier last week, Noakhali Express had confirmed that Polash, known for his role as ‘Kabira’ in the popular drama series Bachelor Point, would be joining them. His unique portrayal of Noakhali’s language, culture, and identity in the drama has won widespread appreciation, which played a key role in the franchise’s decision.
Speaking at the press conference, Polash shared his feelings,
“It is a great pride for me and for the people of Noakhali that a team from Noakhali Express has reached such a big stage like the BPL. I think this should have happened long ago. Even though it is happening after so many years, it is still happening. This joy feels different. I hope Noakhali Express will deliver a good performance in the BPL.”
Polash also addressed the development of cricket infrastructure in his district. Highlighting the progress of young players, he said,
“Since I am from Noakhali, I would like them to work for the cricket infrastructure in Noakhali because all the boys currently playing cricket in Noakhali are doing well, and I hope through your efforts, Noakhali will advance even further.”
When asked about corruption in cricket, especially match-fixing, he took a responsible stance, saying,
“Those associated with cricket, especially the Bangladesh Cricket Board, will monitor and investigate these matters. From our side, we want to ensure that such things do not happen. Not only in cricket but in any field, fixing and corruption are unacceptable.”
However, he admitted that due to his busy schedule, attending every match may be challenging. He added,
“Being present at every match is a bit difficult. As you know, we shoot Bachelor Point for nearly 20 days each month. I will try to be present for the important matches.”
