The intensity of the second ODI at Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur was evident in every moment on the field.
In the 39th over of the innings, an incident occurred that continued to spark debate even after the match ended.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz bowled the delivery, with Mohammad Rizwan at the crease. Salman Ali was standing outside the crease at that time.
While Miraz tried to collect the ball, Salman’s position could have obstructed him slightly.
Still, Miraz managed to stop the ball and throw it at the stumps.
Due to his position outside the crease, the umpire declared Salman out according to the rules.
Salman’s reaction after being given out was striking.
He threw his helmet and began shouting and cursing.
During this heated moment, Liton Das also got involved in a verbal exchange with him.
Pakistani commentator Ramiz Raja strongly criticized the situation.
He said, “Even though he was out according to the rules, the sportsmanship here has been severely damaged.
The batter went to help the bowler.
He did not expect to be given out.”
After the match, Liton Das shared his opinion with the broadcaster.
He explained that this was an international match, and it was not a charity league where anyone would be given leniency.
Liton said, “First of all, no one has come here to play a charity league; this is an international match.
Since it was an out according to the rules, I do not see in any way that sportsmanship has been ruined here.
Everyone is entitled to their personal opinion.
As players, we felt—out is out.”
