Shakib back in the XI, Bangladesh bowl first

In the two-match Test series against Sri Lanka, Bangladesh is trailing 1-0. Today, the second and final Test is commencing at Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Without a victory, the Tigers are not thinking of anything to save the series. In such a crucial match, Bangladesh lost the toss. Sri Lankans have opted to bat first. Captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto announced two changes in the playing eleven. Shariful Islam has been replaced by Shakib in the playing eleven. A debut for Hasan Mahmud, and he is one of only two pacers Bangladesh are playing, alongside Khaled. 

After a year's anticipation, Shakib Al Hasan returns to Test cricket through this match against Sri Lanka. Eager to contribute, Shakib has prepared himself thoroughly. After 358 days, he wears the Test jersey for Bangladesh.

The match will begin at 10:00 AM local time at Chattogram's Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium. Shariful Islam has been left out to accommodate Shakib. Hasan Mahmud is playing in place of Nahidul Islam. Even though three pacers were present in the Sylhet Test, Bangladesh is relying on two pacers on Chattogram's pitch.

Shakib last played as captain in the recent Test series. Under the leadership of new captain Nazmul Hasan Shanto, his return is expected to ease the team's burden.

There have been changes in Sri Lanka's playing eleven as well. As Kasun Rajitha, who took 8 wickets in the Sylhet Test, is injured, Asitha Fernando is playing in this match.
