Shohidul Islam Receives First Call-Up for Foreign Franchise League
Pacer Shohidul Islam, who has played just one T20 match for Bangladesh, is a regular face in domestic cricket. However, he has received exciting news from the United Arab Emirates, as he has been called up for the first time to play in a foreign franchise league. He will be seen in action at the upcoming Abu Dhabi T10 League, representing the Northern Warriors alongside another Bangladeshi all-rounder, Ziaur Rahman.
In this edition of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, Shahidul will don the jersey of the Northern Warriors. This will be his first venture into any foreign league. He will be teammates with star players like Trent Boult, Finn Allen, Colin Munro, and Azmatullah Omarzai.
The tournament is set to kick off on November 21, with the final scheduled for December 2.
Just two days ago, Shohidul was acquired by Fortune Barishal from the BPL players’ draft, where he will play alongside Tamim Iqbal, Riyad, and Mushfiqur Rahim. Now, he has secured a spot in the Abu Dhabi T10 League.
Shohidul made his international T20 debut against Pakistan at home in 2021. He bowled Mohammad Rizwan out for 33 runs on that day, but that remains his last appearance for the national team, as the doors have not reopened for him since then.
