South Africa Crumble Under Rakibul’s 7-Wicket Onslaught
Left-arm spinner Rakibul Hasan wreaked havoc on the third day of the four-day match in Chattogram, dismantling South Africa Emerging with a brilliant seven-wicket haul. His outstanding figures of 31.4-10-64-7 left the visitors reeling as they were bowled out for 243 runs in their first innings.
Earlier, Bangladesh Emerging posted a total of 308 runs in their first innings on day two. South Africa Emerging resumed day three at 149 for 3 and looked set for a solid reply. However, Rakibul had other plans.
Starting the day with just one wicket to his name from the previous evening, the spinner tore through the South African batting order, claiming six more wickets on day three alone. His relentless accuracy and sharp turn left the visitors unable to build any significant partnerships.
The remaining wicket of the day was taken by Moin Khan, as South Africa failed to add even 100 runs to their overnight score.
Rakibul’s performance has put Bangladesh Emerging in a dominant position in the match, showcasing his growing prowess as a frontline spinner for the future.
