Sudden Ownership Change: Chattogram Royals Future Under BCB Control

The curtain rises on the 12th edition of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) tomorrow, but just before the start, a major disruption has hit the field. Chattogram Royals franchise, due to financial and managerial issues, has suddenly stepped back from managing its team.
The franchise directly informed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) that under the current circumstances, they are unable to run the team. In an urgent decision, the responsibility of the team has now been fully taken over by the BCB. Iftikhar Rahman Mithu, Secretary of the BPL Governing Council and BCB director, confirmed the matter. Additionally, Amjad Hossain, Chairman of the BCB Media Committee, also confirmed the news to the press.

Former national team captain Habibul Bashar Sumon has been appointed as the team director of Chattogram Royals, while experienced Mizanur Rahman Babul has been named head coach. Strategy formation for the new team has started with the auction, with opener Naeem Sheikh, acquired at the highest price, at the center of discussions.
