After suffering two consecutive defeats, Sylhet Titans finally returned to winning ways with a 20-run victory over Dhaka Capitals. Batting first, Sylhet posted a competitive total of 180 runs, while Dhaka were restricted to 160 at the end of their allotted overs.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, Sylhet were sent in to bat after losing the toss and got off to a solid start. They reached 48 runs without losing a wicket in the powerplay. The first breakthrough came when Tawfik Khan was dismissed for 17 runs. The other opener, Parvez Hossain Emon, scored 32.
Batting at number three, Ariful Islam played a crucial knock of 38 runs to guide the team towards a big total. Azmatullah Omarzai contributed 33 runs, while Moeen Ali provided a late onslaught with a blistering 28 off just 8 balls.
For Dhaka, Ziaur Rahman Sharifi was the standout bowler, picking up three wickets for 35 runs.
Chasing a target of 181, Dhaka Capitals made a flying start. Opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz scored 51 off 44 balls. However, Dhaka kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Coming in at number five, Saif Hassan added a quick 22 off 14 deliveries.
Towards the end, Sabbir Rahman scored 25 runs, but it was not enough to take his team over the line. Dhaka eventually finished on 160 runs for the loss of eight wickets.
For Sylhet, Salman Irshad claimed three wickets, while Moeen Ali picked up two wickets.
