Shakib Khan Announces New BPL Franchise Name: Dhaka Capitals

Renowned actor and director Shakib Khan, affiliated with Remark-Harlen, officially announced the name of his newly acquired BPL franchise today. The team will compete in the upcoming BPL season under the name "Dhaka Capitals."

In the announcement for the 11th edition of the BPL, Shakib unveiled the team name and logo for "Dhaka Capitals." He expressed his excitement about the overwhelming response he received from fans and cricket enthusiasts, both locally and internationally, when suggesting names for the team.

Shakib stated, “I have been truly delighted by the responses from my loved ones and cricket fans regarding our team name. Therefore, considering everyone’s opinions, we have finalized the name as 'Dhaka Capitals.'”

As the first actor in the country to purchase a BPL cricket team, Shakib is hopeful for success. He remarked, “I hope that with your utmost support and love, Dhaka Capitals will achieve the desired success.”

The BPL is set to commence at the end of December and will run throughout January 2025, with the players' draft scheduled for later this month.
