Rohit Sharma takes second spot in ODI rankings behind Babar Azam
Rohit Sharma has moved up to the second position in the ICC ODI batters' rankings, surpassing Shubman Gill. The only player ahead of Rohit is Babar Azam of Pakistan, who is at the top of the list.
Three Indian players are in the top ten of the ICC ODI batters' rankings: Rohit Sharma at 2, Shubman Gill at 3, and Virat Kohli at 4. Rohit has 765 points. Recently, Rohit increased his points by scoring 157 runs in the Sri Lanka series, surpassing Gill.
There has also been a rise in the rankings for Sri Lankan players Pathum Nissanka and Kushal Mendis. Pathum Nissanka has moved up one spot to 8, with 708 points. Kushal Mendis has moved up five spots to 39, with 574 points. Additionally, Sri Lankan player Avishka Fernando has risen 20 places to 68.
Following the series between the West Indies and South Africa in Trinidad, there have been changes in the latest Test player rankings as well. South African captain Temba Bavuma, with scores of 86 and an unbeaten 15 against the West Indies, has moved up two places to 16 in the Test batters' rankings. Opener Tony de Zorzi has risen 29 spots to 85.
In the bowlers' rankings, Keshav Maharaj has moved up seven places to 21. West Indies spinner Jomel Warrican has advanced twelve spots to a career-best 54.
