Despite IPL Suspension, Gujarat Titans Stay Battle-Ready Amid National Tension
While the Indian Premier League (IPL) has been suspended for a week due to nationwide tensions, Gujarat Titans remain unfazed and focused. The players have continued their regular practice sessions at their home ground in Ahmedabad, determined to stay match-ready for an immediate return to action.
Following the tournament pause, many players from other franchises headed back to their home countries. Several overseas players had already departed prior to the official announcement. In contrast, most members of the Gujarat squad have stayed back in Ahmedabad, a clear sign of the team's unwavering focus and intent.
Interestingly, just a day after the IPL suspension, news of a ceasefire emerged. The Indian cricket board swiftly began planning for a resumption, with reports suggesting the tournament might restart as early as the end of this week.
Before the interruption, Gujarat Titans were in red-hot form. With 16 points from 11 matches, they currently sit at the top of the table, edging out Bengaluru only on net run rate. They still have three games left, two of which will be played on home turf.
Individually, several Titans have stood out. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill have been consistently among the runs, placing them high on the tournament’s top scorers list. In the bowling department, Prasidh Krishna has taken 20 wickets, putting him among the top wicket-takers this season.
Gujarat’s focused approach and continued training during the break signal one thing clearly—they’re not on pause. While other teams may be resting, the Titans are gearing up for a strong return, ready to pick up where they left off.
