Virat Kohli Announces Retirement from Test Cricket

In a surprising move, Indian cricket superstar Virat Kohli has announced his retirement from Test cricket. Kohli shared the news through an emotional post on Instagram, confirming that he will no longer don the whites for India.

The modern-day legend represented India in 123 Test matches, amassing 9,230 runs from 210 innings at an impressive average of 46.85. His illustrious Test career includes 30 centuries and 31 fifties, with a highest score of an unbeaten 254.

Despite a stellar career, Kohli had been struggling to maintain consistency in the longer format in recent times. Since scoring a century in Perth (100*), he failed to register a fifty in his next seven innings. Prior to that Perth hundred, his last century had come 15 innings earlier.

Kohli was a key figure in India's leadership group for a long time. Before handing over the captaincy to Rohit Sharma, he led India in 68 Test matches, winning 40 of them. With only 17 losses under his captaincy, Kohli leaves as the most successful Test captain in India’s history.
