BCB Seeks Two Members for National Selection Panel

The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is looking for new members to help shape the future squads of the national team. The country’s apex cricket governing body has officially invited applications for two positions on the national selection panel. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their qualifications and experience.

Although his contract expired yesterday, Gazi Ashraf Hossain will not step down immediately. At the request of the BCB, he will continue to serve as chief selector for at least another month. The board aims to complete the recruitment process for the new selectors within this period, which is why the job circular has been issued.

According to the notice, two individuals will be appointed as members of the national selection panel. Initially, the appointments will be for two years, with the possibility of an extension based on satisfactory performance. Attractive salaries and other benefits will be offered in line with qualifications, experience, and background.

The national selection panel will be responsible for selecting squads for the senior men’s national teams (Test, ODI and T20I), Bangladesh ‘A’ team, the High Performance (HP) unit, National Cricket League (NCL), Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL), Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), and other men’s teams. They will also be required to closely monitor domestic and international performances, attend domestic matches, maintain performance databases, coordinate with the head coach and team management, and regularly submit reports to the Cricket Operations Committee. Strategic input on player development and succession planning will also be part of their responsibilities.

Applicants must be former international or first-class cricketers, with a combined experience of at least 100 first-class and List ‘A’ matches. A clear understanding of modern cricket, integrity, leadership qualities, and sound decision-making skills are essential. Candidates should be willing to travel both within Bangladesh and abroad and possess strong analytical, communication, and reporting abilities.

Interested candidates must send their CV, a forwarding letter mentioning expected salary, and a recent photograph via email addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The deadline for applications is March 8, 2026. Only shortlisted candidates will be called for interviews. The BCB reserves the right to accept or reject any application.
