Bangladeshs Test Cricket Memorabilia Publication Added to Lords MCC Library
A unique memorabilia publication chronicling the history of Bangladesh’s Test cricket has earned a place at the world’s most iconic cricket venue, Lord’s Cricket Ground. Memorable Match Tickets, a commemorative publication of the Bangladesh Cricket Museum compiled by cricket memorabilia collector Junaed Paiker, has been formally included in the library of the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
Published to mark the 25th anniversary of Bangladesh’s debut in Test cricket, the book was added to the MCC Library on 31 January 2026. On the occasion, the publication was formally handed over on behalf of the author to MCC Archive and Library Manager Alan Rees by Capital Kids Cricket CEO and full MCC member Shahidul Alam Ratan, along with Abdus Salam, President of the Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Association (BCSA), UK.
Memorable Match Tickets features original tickets from 50 Test matches of Bangladesh, carefully selected from Junaed Paiker’s personal collection. Using authentic match tickets as historical artefacts, the book presents a distinctive visual and archive-based documentation of Bangladesh’s journey in Test cricket.
Commenting on the inclusion of the book in the MCC Library, Alan Rees said, “Memorable Match Tickets is a meticulously produced publication that not only complements our ticket collection at Lord’s but also further enriches the representation of Bangladesh’s cricket history in the MCC Library.”
He added, “There has always been strong reader interest in the visual history of match tickets, and we are hopeful that this book will generate curiosity and engagement among readers.”
Founder President of the Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Association and long-time cricket memorabilia collector Junaed Paiker described the achievement as an emotional moment. He said, “The inclusion of Memorable Match Tickets in the MCC Library at Lord’s is a matter of immense pride and emotion for me. It is a tribute to the Bangladeshi cricket supporters who witnessed these historic matches.”
The journey documented in the book begins with Bangladesh’s first-ever Test match on 10 November 2000 and traces key milestones up to the present day. With more than 20,000 cricket-related books in its collection, the inclusion of this publication in the MCC Library is expected to play a significant role in preserving Bangladesh’s Test cricket heritage for researchers, historians, and future generations.
