What BCB Director Asif Akbar Said About Shakibs Comeback
The biggest topic in Bangladesh cricket right now is the possibility of former captain Shakib Al Hasan returning to the national team. Although his name is still not included in the central contract, the cricket board and relevant officials have been actively trying to bring him back to the team over the past few weeks.
BCB Director Asif Akbar, who maintains regular contact with Shakib, spoke about the player’s update, saying, “I regularly communicate with Shakib. The last time I went to the United States, I spoke with him there as well. Shakib said he wants to play. After that, with the consensus of all board directors, we have requested Shakib to join the Bangladesh team.”
Asif Akbar further added, “Later, I discussed with him the cases and other issues he has. His lawyer has been in contact with the BCB regarding these matters. We will deliver the case files as soon as possible, most likely by Sunday or Monday, and the next responsibility will lie with the government. I hope that by Sunday or Monday, through the State Minister for Youth and Sports, the case files will be submitted to the government.”
