Doha to Host the Next ICC Board and Committee Meetings
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced that Doha, the capital of Qatar, will host the next ICC Board and Committee meetings from March 25 to 27.
The meetings will bring together ICC Board Directors, Chief Executives, Committee Members, and senior leadership. These sessions will provide an important opportunity to discuss key matters concerning the present and future of global cricket.
By choosing Doha as the venue, the ICC has highlighted its active engagement with cricket in Qatar and the country’s broader sporting ecosystem. Collaboration between the ICC, the Qatar Cricket Association, and the Qatar Olympic Committee has contributed to significant progress in the country’s cricket development over recent years.
Since 2020, participation in cricket in Qatar has increased by 447%. Initiatives aimed at promoting the game at the school level, such as the Qatar Olympic Committee’s School Olympic Programme and ICC’s “Criiio Cricket Festivals,” have helped make cricket popular among the younger generation.
The ICC believes that hosting the meetings in Doha reflects Qatar’s growing role in international cricket and provides an opportunity to further strengthen collaboration between the ICC and local sporting organizations.
