BCB Expresses Concern Over Media Claims Regarding Inquiry Report
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed concern over a report broadcast by a private television channel regarding the five-member inquiry committee formed to investigate allegations of irregularities in the purchase of soil for the National Cricket Ground in Purbachal.
In an investigative report aired on Saturday (7 February) on Star Play, a satellite channel of Star News, certain claims were made about the activities and findings of the inquiry committee. In response, the BCB said in a statement that it has not yet received any report from the committee, nor has the committee formally submitted its findings to the Board.
The statement further noted that the information presented in the broadcast does not align with the current facts and fails to accurately reflect the actual status of the inquiry.
In this context, the BCB has urged the concerned television channel to review the content aired and take appropriate steps to address the resulting misinformation, in the interest of accuracy, fairness and responsible journalism.
