Saifs Brilliance and Mustafizurs Bowling Guide Team A to 11-Run Win

Team ‘A’ and Team ‘B’ faced each other in a practice T20 match at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. After winning the toss, Team ‘A’ captain Litton Kumar Das elected to bat first.

Team ‘A’ made an aggressive start to their innings. Opener Saif Hasan played a brilliant knock, scoring 77 runs off 52 balls, with two fours and six massive sixes, before retiring out and returning to the dressing room. His opening partner Tanzid Hasan also played a quickfire innings of 24 runs off 14 balls, including one four and three sixes.

Towhid Hridoy was dismissed for 13, while captain Litton Kumar departed without scoring. However, Parvez Hossain kept the scoreboard moving with a 24-run knock off 23 balls. Towards the end, Sheikh Mehedi Hasan (10*) and Rishad Hossain (2*) remained unbeaten to maintain the scoring momentum. Team ‘A’ eventually posted a challenging total of 166 for six in their allotted 20 overs.

Among Team ‘B’s bowlers, Ripon Mondal was the pick, taking two wickets for 26 runs in his four overs. Iqbal Hossain, Nasum Ahmed and Shamim Hossain claimed one wicket each.

Chasing 167, Team ‘B’ made a promising start. Opener Naim Sheikh scored 40 off 36 balls, including two fours and two sixes, while Soumya Sarkar contributed 17 runs off 18 balls. However, Mosaddek Hossain launched a counterattack in the middle order and tried to turn the match in his team’s favour. He smashed 46 runs off just 22 balls, featuring one four and five sixes. Captain and wicketkeeper Nurul Hasan supported him with a 29-run knock off 20 balls. However, Shamim Patwari’s dismissal for just two runs slowed down Team ‘B’s scoring rate towards the end.

Team ‘A’ pacer Mustafizur Rahman’s disciplined and accurate bowling ultimately tilted the match in their team’s favour. Mustafizur claimed three crucial wickets while conceding just 15 runs in his three overs. Aliss Al Islam took one wicket for 32 runs in four overs, while Rishad Hossain also picked up one wicket for 25 runs in his four overs.

Failing to score the required runs in the final over, Team ‘B’ finished on 155 for seven in their 20 overs. As a result, Litton Kumar’s Team ‘A’ secured an exciting 11-run victory.
