Gillespie to coach Pakistan in red-ball cricket, Kirsten in white-ball cricket
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has added Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie to the coaching staff of the national men's team. PCB has entrusted these two cricketing stars with coaching responsibilities.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi revealed the news of the new appointments at a press conference in Lahore today. PCB later confirmed this information through a press release.
Jason Gillespie will serve as the head coach for the red-ball cricket, while Gary Kirsten will take on the role of head coach for the white-ball formats. Azhar Mahmood has been appointed as the assistant coach for all formats.
All three have been appointed for a period of two years.
Gary Kirsten will take charge of the Pakistan team after the conclusion of the Indian Premier League (IPL). His assignments include the T20 World Cup 2024, Champions Trophy 2025, Asia Cup 2025, and T20 World Cup 2026.
Jason Gillespie will kick off his duties with the Test series against Bangladesh in August.
