Indian Cricketers Mourn Victims of Ahmedabad Plane Crash

A wave of grief has swept through the Indian cricket fraternity following the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad. The Air India aircraft, carrying 230 passengers including two children, along with two pilots and ten crew members, crashed en route to London’s Gatwick Airport.

The incident has deeply saddened the cricket world. Former Indian stars such as Yuvraj Singh, Harbhajan Singh, Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, and Suryakumar Yadav have expressed their heartfelt condolences for the victims and their families.

Former all-rounder Yuvraj Singh wrote:

“Heartbreaking news about the Air India crash in Ahmedabad. My thoughts and prayers are with the passengers, crew, and affected families. May they find strength during this difficult time.”

Team India captain Rohit Sharma also reacted to the incident, posting an Instagram story saying:

“Very sad and tragic news coming out of Ahmedabad. My heartfelt condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the crash.”

Star batter Suryakumar Yadav also extended his sympathies, wishing for the safety and recovery of those affected by the tragedy.

From beyond the borders, Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan joined in mourning the loss. He posted:

“Truly saddened by the heartbreaking news from Ahmedabad. My prayers and condolences to the victims and their families. May they find the strength to cope with this loss.”

The crash has cast a shadow not only over India but also across the global cricketing community. At a time when the sport often brings people together in celebration, today it unites them in sorrow and solidarity.
