In a thrilling encounter, Rangpur Riders needed 26 runs off the last six balls to secure victory, with Nurul Hasan Sohan at the crease. At that point, not many believed a win was possible, but Sohan defied the odds and turned the game around with six magnificent boundaries, creating an unbelievable equation.
Sohan began by hitting a six off the first ball of the final over, followed by two consecutive fours. This sparked belief that a victory could still be achieved. He then struck another six off the next ball and followed it up with a four. With only 2 runs remaining off the final ball, Sohan hit a six to win the match for his team.
After the game, Fortune Barishal’s captain Tamim Iqbal, although visibly upset by the loss, did not forget to praise Sohan's extraordinary performance. He stated, “Sohan deserves all the credit. The way he batted was incredible, especially chasing down 26 runs in the last over. In such situations, the bowlers often have the advantage, but Sohan was the one who took the credit.”
Tamim’s words held true. Sohan's unbeaten 32-run innings overshadowed the remarkable 61 runs from 29 balls by Kyle Mayers. Despite his disappointment, Tamim acknowledged Sohan’s brilliance on the field.
Sohan remained unbeaten on 32 runs off 7 balls against Barishal, with 3 fours and 3 sixes in his knock. His strike rate was an astounding 457.14.
