Usman Khan Ruled Out of Second ODI Against New Zealand Due to Hamstring Injury
Pakistan opener Usman Khan has been ruled out of the second ODI against New Zealand due to a hamstring injury. Usman sustained the injury while fielding during the first ODI on Saturday. The extent of the injury was confirmed after an MRI scan, according to the Pakistan team management.
The injury occurred in Usman's debut match at McLean Park in Napier, and as a result, he will miss the second ODI on Wednesday. The MRI revealed a low-grade tear in Usman's hamstring.
In the first match of the series, Usman made his ODI debut for Pakistan. He opened the innings and scored 39 runs off 33 balls, forming an 83-run partnership with Abdullah Shafique.
With Usman’s absence, Imam-ul-Haq could open the innings alongside Abdullah Shafique, or Pakistan may opt to open with star batter Babar Azam, as they did during the Champions Trophy.
