Pakistan announce T20I squad Amir, Imad, Usman, Irfan included
Pakistan has announced a squad of 17 members for the five-match T20 series against New Zealand. Like the first time, two cricketers have been called up, while two experienced cricketers have returned anew.
Middle-order batter Mohammad Irfan Khan and opener Usman Khan have been called up for the Pakistan national team for the first time, respectively. Uncapped (yet to make T20I debut) Abrar Ahmed is also in the squad.
All-rounder Imad Wasim and fast bowler Mohammad Amir have broken retirement and returned to the squad. Both are present in the squad.
Imad has represented Pakistan in 66 T20 matches, scoring 486 runs and taking 65 wickets. He last represented Pakistan against New Zealand 12 months ago.
Amir last played for Pakistan at Old Trafford in August 2020. He has taken 59 wickets in 50 T20 matches at an economy rate of 7.02.
