'Want to play for India in all three formats' - Suryakumar hopes to make a Test comeback
Suryakumar Yadav aims to play all three formats for India. To prepare for Test cricket, the Indian T20 captain is returning to first-class cricket. He is looking to participate in the Buchi Babu Invitational Cricket Tournament representing Mumbai.
Suryakumar Yadav is currently leading India in T20 cricket. Under his captaincy, India won the series 3-0 against Sri Lanka. Now, Suryakumar is setting his sights on Test cricket. He has made a significant decision with the goal of making a comeback to the Test team.
In an interview with Indian media outlet The Times of India, Suryakumar stated, "I want to play in all formats for India. Playing in the Buchi Babu tournament will be good preparation for the red-ball cricket season."
He has previously played only one Test match. With the aim of returning to Test cricket, Suryakumar is now focusing on domestic red-ball cricket. He might feature in the match against Jammu & Kashmir in the Buchi Babu tournament on August 27.
India has a Test series at home against Bangladesh, followed by a five-match Test series in Australia. There are several series included in the World Test Championship. Hence, Suryakumar's goal is to make a comeback in Test cricket.
