Imad Wasim Announces Retirement from International Cricket Again
Pakistan's all-rounder Imad Wasim has once again announced his retirement from international cricket. While he bids farewell to international cricket, Imad has confirmed that he will continue to play in domestic cricket and franchise leagues.
Imad had first announced his retirement in November 2023, but ahead of the 2024 T20 World Cup, he made a return to the national squad, which sparked considerable criticism when he was included in the 15-man squad.
Now, once again, Imad has decided to step away from international cricket. Over the course of his career, he played 55 One-Day Internationals (ODIs) and 75 T20Is for Pakistan, scoring a total of 1540 runs. He also took 117 wickets with the ball.
Imad shared his decision on social media today, Friday, stating:
"After much thought and consideration, I have decided to retire from international cricket. Representing Pakistan on the world stage was the greatest honor for me. Every moment wearing the green jersey will remain unforgettable. As this chapter closes, I look forward to continuing my journey in domestic and franchise cricket. I hope to entertain everyone in a new way."
