Bangladesh Posts 202 Runs in Warm-Up Match Against Pakistan Shaheens Before Champions Trophy
Ahead of their Champions Trophy campaign, Bangladesh played their only warm-up match against Pakistan Shaheens. Opting to bat first, Bangladesh managed to post a total of 202 runs, getting all out in 38.2 overs.
The main contributors to the scoreboard were openers Soumya Sarkar and Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Soumya made 35 runs, while Miraz top-scored with 44 runs. At the tail end, Tanzim Hasan Sakib played a crucial knock of 30 runs off 27 balls, helping Bangladesh reach a respectable total.
Openers Tanjid Hasan Tamim and captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto struggled. Tamim couldn't get past 6 runs, and Shanto was dismissed for just 12 runs, caught off Mubasir Khan's delivery while attempting a return catch.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz was the standout performer with the bat, scoring the highest in the innings with 44 runs. Tawhid Hridoy made 20 runs before being dismissed. Mushfiqur Rahim also had a disappointing outing, making only 7 runs off 14 balls. Zakir Ali Onik was dismissed cheaply for just 4 runs.
While it was a tough outing for Bangladesh, this warm-up match provided crucial practice ahead of their Champions Trophy campaign, where they will face India on February 20.
