Big Boost for RCB as Josh Hazlewood Returns Ahead of IPL 2025 Playoffs
Ahead of the crucial playoff stage of the IPL 2025, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have received a major boost with the return of Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood. The right-arm fast bowler joined the team on Sunday morning in Lucknow after recovering from a minor shoulder injury.
Hazlewood had been sidelined for a few matches due to the injury but has now fully recovered following a rehabilitation program and training stint in Brisbane. He has been one of RCB’s most reliable bowlers this season, taking 18 wickets in 10 matches with an economy rate of 8.44. Known for his control during the powerplay, Hazlewood’s disciplined bowling often disrupts the opposition's batting early on.
RCB will play their final league match against Lucknow Super Giants on May 27. Having secured 17 points from 12 matches, the team has already confirmed its place in the playoffs. Hazlewood’s return adds further strength to their title hopes as they chase their elusive maiden IPL trophy.
An RCB spokesperson remarked,
“Hazlewood’s return is a huge boost for us. He’s fully fit and remains a key part of our bowling strategy.”
With the playoffs fast approaching, the comeback of such an experienced campaigner bolsters RCB’s confidence and strengthens their push for a historic IPL title win.
