Ajay Devgn Becomes Owner of Ahmedabad Franchise in ISPL
Bollywood star Ajay Devgn has officially joined the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) by acquiring ownership of the Ahmedabad franchise. He now joins a long list of film icons who are already associated with the tournament - Amitabh Bachchan (Mumbai), Salman Khan (Delhi), Akshay Kumar (Srinagar), Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor (Kolkata), Hrithik Roshan (Bengaluru), Ram Charan (Hyderabad), and Suriya (Chennai).
The ISPL announced that Ajay Devgn will be part of the Ahmedabad franchise starting from the league’s third season. Sharing his thoughts on the development, Devgn said, “This league is not only discovering new talent but also giving them a platform to shine. Representing a vibrant city like Ahmedabad is truly an honor for me.”
ISPL Core Committee member Sachin Tendulkar also welcomed the move, stating, “This league is creating a platform for those who play tennis-ball cricket to fulfill their dreams. Along with the game, it also offers players the chance to prove themselves. With the addition of this new team, even more youngsters will now have opportunities.”
Notably, the ISPL’s second season set a record in terms of viewership, with over 28 million people tuning in on television—an increase of 47 percent compared to the inaugural season. For the upcoming edition, more than 4.2 million players have already registered, with trials scheduled to be held across 101 cities in India.
