Ashraful Returning to Zimbabwe with the National Team After 13 Years
Former Bangladesh captain Mohammad Ashraful is set to travel to Zimbabwe with the Bangladesh national cricket team once again after 13 years. However, this time he is not going as a player, but in his new role as the team’s batting coach. Ashraful confirmed the news himself through an emotional post on Facebook.
The Facebook post reads:
“After 13 years, I am once again traveling to Zimbabwe with the Bangladesh national team.
The last time I toured Zimbabwe was in 2013, when I played my final international series for Bangladesh there. Interestingly, my international cricket journey had also begun against Zimbabwe on Zimbabwean soil. And now, after all these years, I am returning to Zimbabwe once again—this time as the batting coach of the Bangladesh team.
For the past seven months, I have been working with the team at home. After completing all the home series, this will be my first overseas tour as a coach.
Cricket is truly amazing. I am returning to a place where so many memories were created, but this time with a new responsibility.
Please keep me in your prayers, and also pray for the Bangladesh team.”
