Asia Cup 2025 Schedule Announced: Bangladesh to Face Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong
The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has officially announced the schedule for the Asia Cup 2025, confirming that the tournament will be held from September 9 to 28 across Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
This edition of the Asia Cup will feature eight teams: India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Hong Kong, the UAE, and Oman. The teams are divided into two groups:
-
Group A: India, Pakistan, UAE, Oman
-
Group B: Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong
As per the group draw, Bangladesh will face Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, and Hong Kong in the group stage.
The tournament will be played in the T20 format, serving as a key preparation platform ahead of the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
One of the major talking points is the presence of India and Pakistan in the same group. With both teams expected to progress to the Super Four, fans could witness at least two high-voltage clashes between the arch-rivals. If both make it to the final, a third showdown could be on the cards—creating a major boost for broadcasters in terms of viewership and revenue.
With just weeks to go, the stage is set for a thrilling contest to determine Asia’s cricketing supremacy.
