Bangladesh Clinch Series with Thrilling Last-Over Win Over Zimbabwe

Bangladesh secured the three-match T20I series 2-1 after defeating Zimbabwe by four wickets in a thrilling contest at Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo. Chasing a target of 144, the visitors reached the target with two balls to spare.

After winning the toss, Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza elected to bat first. However, disciplined bowling from the Bangladesh attack restricted the hosts to 143 for 7 in their allotted 20 overs.

Dion Myers was the top scorer for Zimbabwe with an impressive 73 off 53 balls, an innings featuring seven fours and two sixes. Number three batter Brian Bennett contributed a valuable 47, but none of the remaining batters managed to reach double figures. Captain Sikandar Raza was dismissed for just three runs.

Mohammad Saifuddin was the standout performer with the ball for Bangladesh, claiming 2 wickets for 35 runs. Sheikh Mahedi, Rishad Hossain and Abdul Gaffar Saqlain chipped in with one wicket each.

In reply, Bangladesh suffered an early setback as Saif Hassan was dismissed for just four runs. Opener Tanzid Hasan Tamim then anchored the chase with a match-winning knock of 66 from 58 deliveries, smashing four sixes and one four. His outstanding innings earned him the Player of the Match award.

Parvez Hossain Emon (24) and stand-in captain Towhid Hridoy (24) provided crucial support to Tanzid during the middle overs. Although Bangladesh lost a few wickets late in the innings to create some tension, they eventually reached 144 for 6 in 19.4 overs.

For Zimbabwe, Richard Ngarava, Sikandar Raza and Brad Evans claimed two wickets each.

After losing the opening match of the series, Bangladesh bounced back in style by winning the next two matches to seal the T20I series 2-1.
