In a dramatic PSL final, Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana stood out in Peshawar Zalmi’s title-winning campaign.

Although Aaron Hardie delivered an all-round performance in the win against Hyderabad Kingsmen, Nahid’s contribution was equally vital. He conceded just 22 runs in 4 overs while taking 2 key wickets, keeping the opposition under constant pressure and playing a major role in Zalmi’s path to the final with the best economy rate of the tournament.

What makes his story even more remarkable is that Nahid had initially played only four matches before returning to Bangladesh for the New Zealand series. However, he was later brought back to the squad on special permission ahead of the final. At the request of Peshawar Zalmi, the BCB allowed his return, and the pacer once again proved his worth.

Speaking about Nahid, Player of the Match Aaron Hardie said:

“Yeah, absolutely (how good he is). I mean, he got off a flight just three days ago and still bowled with incredible pace today. When he was bowling 151 kph in Karachi, it was a nightmare for the batters. I know he has a Test match in a week, and I also know that Babar probably won’t want to face him. There is a friendly rivalry between them. I can see him going around and playing in competitions all over the world; a player of his calibre will be welcomed everywhere. I am really happy for him.”

Ahead of the PSL auction, Nahid was picked up by the franchise for 60 lakh rupees, and he made full use of the opportunity.
