Harshit Rana Returns to Indias ODI Squad for Third ODI Against Afghanistan After Injury Layoff
Fast bowler Harshit Rana has returned to India’s ODI squad after a four-month absence. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has included him in the squad for the third and final ODI against Afghanistan, scheduled to be played in Chennai on June 20.
In a statement on Friday, the BCCI said that Rana has completed his rehabilitation at the BCCI Centre of Excellence and has already joined the squad in Chennai.
However, the BCCI did not provide any official update regarding all-rounder Hardik Pandya’s fitness. His name was also absent from the latest squad announcement. Hardik suffered a leg injury during a training session at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru ahead of the series.
Harshit Rana sustained a knee injury during a warm-up match ahead of the T20 World Cup against South Africa. The injury ruled him out of both the World Cup and IPL 2026, and he later underwent surgery.
Meanwhile, India have already secured the three-match ODI series with a 2-0 lead after winning the first two matches in Dharamsala and Lucknow.
India Squad:
Shubman Gill (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul, Ishan Kishan, Nitish Kumar Reddy, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Prince Yadav, Gurnoor Brar, Harsh Dubey, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Harshit Rana.
