India Clinches Women’s U-19 Asia Cup Title by Defeating Bangladesh
India became the champions of the Women’s U-19 Asia Cup by defeating Bangladesh. In the final, the Indian U-19 women’s cricket team celebrated their title victory with a 41-run win over their Bangladeshi counterparts. Chasing a target of 118 runs set by India, Bangladesh was bowled out for just 76 runs.
On Sunday in Kuala Lumpur, India batted first and scored 117 runs for the loss of 7 wickets, powered by opener Trisha’s 52 off 47 balls. Mithila contributed 17 runs from 12 balls, while Niki Prasad added 12 runs off 21 deliveries.
Bangladesh’s Farzana Yasmin delivered a stellar bowling performance, claiming 4 wickets for 31 runs. Nishita Akter Nishi also supported well with 2 wickets.
In pursuit of the 118-run target, Bangladesh lost Eva for a duck and Sumaiya Akter Suborna for 8 runs. Fahmida Chhoa and Juairia Ferdous built a 20-run partnership before Sonam Yadav broke through. Chhoa scored 18 runs off 24 balls, while Juairia managed 22 runs.
After Juairia’s dismissal, no other Bangladeshi batter reached double figures. The team was bowled out for 76 runs with 9 balls to spare.
For India, Ayushi Shukla took 3 wickets, while Parunika Sisodia and Sonam Yadav each grabbed 2 wickets.
