Mehidy Hasan Miraz has surpassed Shakib Al Hasan in the ICC Test All-Rounder rankings, marking the first time Miraz has reached the top three. With impressive performances in both batting and bowling, Miraz now holds the third position, while Shakib has dropped to fourth.
In the latest ICC rankings update on Wednesday, Miraz’s career-high 294 points moved him up two spots to third, while Shakib, with 280 points, dropped one place to fourth. The top two all-rounders remain India’s Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Miraz has become a key figure for Bangladesh in Test cricket. He played a crucial role in the recent series against Pakistan, helping Bangladesh to a clean sweep, and he also performed well with the ball against India and fought hard with the bat against South Africa.
South African pacer Kagiso Rabada reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Test Bowling rankings after taking nine wickets against Bangladesh in Mirpur during the ICC World Test Championship series opener. Rabada surpassed India’s Ravichandran Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah, and Australia’s Josh Hazlewood to secure the top spot.
Bangladesh spinner Taijul Islam also saw a rise, moving up three spots to 18th in the bowling rankings. England’s Gus Atkinson climbed two places to 22nd, while Pakistan’s Sajid Khan made a notable jump of 12 places.
In the batting rankings, India’s opener Yashasvi Jaiswal returned to the third position, while Pakistan’s Saud Shakeel and New Zealand’s Rachin Ravindra entered the top 10 for the first time in their careers.
