Rohit Sharma’s Emotional Message about Rahul Dravid
Rahul Dravid stepped down from his position as the head coach after leading India to victory in the T20 World Cup. Following losses in the ODI World Cup final and the Test Championship final, there was much criticism about the inability of the Rohit Sharma and Rahul Dravid duo to bring home a trophy for India. However, in the end, Rohit and Rahul achieved success.
Therefore, Rohit Sharma was deeply moved by Rahul Dravid’s departure as the head coach. He posted a lengthy message on Instagram to bid farewell to Dravid, making it clear just how emotional he felt about his beloved coach leaving.
On Instagram, Rohit Sharma wrote, "Dear Rahul Bhai, I struggled to find the words to express my feelings about you. I don't know if I ever will, so today I summoned the courage to write them down."
Rohit Sharma expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to work with Rahul Dravid, calling himself fortunate. "Like millions of people in our country, I grew up watching you. I am lucky to have had the chance to work with you. Despite being such a great cricketer, you set aside all your achievements to become our coach. You adapted to us so well that we could talk to you about anything. Your humility and passion for cricket, even after all these years, continue to amaze us."
He mentioned learning a lot from Dravid, "I have learned so much from you. My wife refers to you as my work spouse, and I consider myself fortunate to be able to say that to you."
Rohit Sharma expressed his happiness about winning the World Cup together. "The title was never just about the trophy for you. I am extremely happy that we were able to win this trophy together. Rahul Bhai, I consider myself lucky to call you my mentor, coach, and friend."
