The schedule for the upcoming SA20 League has been announced, with the tournament set to begin on January 9, 2025, and conclude with the final on February 8, 2025. As with the previous two editions, the SA20 will once again clash with the schedules of the Australian Big Bash League (BBL), the United Arab Emirates' ILT20, and Bangladesh's T20 league, BPL.
The third edition of the SA20 tournament will feature six teams competing in a total of 34 matches. The teams participating in this tournament are Sunrisers Eastern Cape, Durban Super Giants, Pretoria Capitals, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, and Paarl Royals.
Sunrisers Eastern Cape, owned by the India-based Sun Group which also owns Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL, has won the first two seasons of the SA20. They will be aiming for a hat-trick of titles, while last season's finalists Durban Super Giants, along with Pretoria Capitals, Joburg Super Kings, MI Cape Town, and Paarl Royals, will be looking to stop them and claim the championship themselves.
Given the overlap in schedules, players and fans might face tough choices between the SA20 and other major T20 leagues happening around the same time.
