A dedicated cricketing life came to a sudden halt just moments before taking the field. Dhaka Capitals assistant coach Mahbub Ali Jaki passed away after suffering a heart attack shortly before a Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) match. He fell ill suddenly during the team’s warm-up session at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.
He was given emergency CPR on the spot and was then rushed to hospital by ambulance. However, despite all efforts, he could not be saved. Upon arrival at the hospital, the on-duty doctors declared Mahbub Ali Jaki dead.
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed deep sorrow at his passing in an official condolence message. In addition, he worked closely with national team stars such as Mashrafe Bin Mortaza and Taskin Ahmed.
