Bangladesh Clinch T20I Series Against Pakistan with Thrilling 8-Run Victory
After a recent T20I series win in Sri Lanka, Liton Das' Bangladesh side have now secured another series triumph—this time on home soil. With a commanding performance, the Tigers defeated Pakistan in back-to-back matches, sealing the three-match series 2-0 with one game to spare.
Despite a brilliant lone effort from Faheem Ashraf, who scored 51 off 32 balls, Pakistan fell short in a tense chase of 133 runs. Bangladesh held their nerve to win by 8 runs in a match filled with dramatic twists, particularly in the final overs.
With 15 needed off the last two overs, Faheem was bowled off the final delivery of the 19th over, reigniting Bangladesh's hopes. However, the drama wasn’t over.
Mustafizur Rahman conceded a six off the first ball of the 20th over, bringing the equation down to 9 needed from 5 balls. But Ahmed Daniyal's attempt to clear the boundary ended in a catch at the rope by Shamim Patwary, sealing a thrilling win for Bangladesh.
Bangladesh now lead the series 2-0 and have ensured a memorable series victory with one match still to play.
