In the Bangladesh Premier League, Sylhet Titans defeated Rangpur Riders by 6 wickets, handing Rangpur their third consecutive loss.
At the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Friday, Rangpur Riders were restricted to 114 all out in 19.1 overs, losing 4 wickets. Sylhet Titans chased down the target of 117 comfortably in 17.3 overs, securing victory with 6 wickets in hand.
Rangpur Riders had a disappointing start. Opener Towhid Hridoy was dismissed for just 4 runs LBW, while Kyle Mayers fell for a duck. Liton Das offered some resistance with 22 runs, and Khushdil Shah scored 30. Towards the end, Mahmudullah Riyad contributed 29 runs. However, failures from other batsmen prevented Rangpur from lasting the full 20 overs.
Among Sylhet Titans’ bowlers, Shohidul Islam took 3 wickets, Nasum Ahmed claimed 3 wickets conceding only 19 runs, and Moin Ali picked up 2 wickets for just 8 runs in 4 overs.
Chasing the target, Sylhet Titans’ batsmen started brilliantly. Tawfiq Khan scored 33 off 19 balls before getting out. Parvez Hossain Emon led the fight to the end, scoring an unbeaten 52 off 41 balls, finishing the match with a six. Ariful Islam added 21 runs, while Afif Hossain scored 12 before getting out. Although Nahid Rana took 2 wickets in a single over, it wasn’t enough to stop Sylhet from completing the chase.
