Afghanistan Announce ODI Squad for Ireland Series

The Afghanistan Cricket Board (ACB) has announced a strong 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI series against Ireland. The series marks the beginning of a new era in Afghanistan cricket. Following Hashmatullah Shahidi’s decision to step down as captain, experienced batter Rahmat Shah has been appointed as Afghanistan’s new ODI and Test captain. Explosive opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz has been named the new vice-captain.

World-class leg-spinner Rashid Khan returns to lead Afghanistan’s spin attack. He will be joined in the spin department by AM Ghazanfar and Nangeyalia Kharote. The pace bowling unit features Fazalhaq Farooqi, Yamin Ahmadzai, and Salim Safi.

The batting line-up will be led by the new captain Rahmat Shah, alongside Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal, and all-rounder Azmatullah Omarzai.
