mini-auction for IPL 2027 is set to take place in Goa on December 16. Ahead of the auction, the deadline for franchises to submit their list of retained and released players has been extended by two days to November 17. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) made the change primarily because India and New Zealand are scheduled to play the fifth ODI on November 15.
According to the revised schedule announced by the IPL authorities, the final date for player registration is November 23. However, franchises can request special permission to add new players to the list until November 27. Following the verification process, the final list of players and their respective auction sets will be sent to the franchises on December 3.
Two major player trades have already been completed ahead of the auction. Delhi Capitals have brought back their former captain Rishabh Pant from Lucknow Super Giants, with Kuldeep Yadav moving to Lucknow as part of the deal.
The exact start date of the tournament has not yet been officially announced. However, the BCCI has indicated that the 2027 edition of the IPL could begin towards the end of March. Notably, this will be the final mini-auction of the current cycle, as another large-scale mega auction is scheduled to take place ahead of the 2028 season.
