Nasirs Blitz Powers Dhaka Past Noakhali
Dhaka Capitals registered a convincing seven-wicket victory over Noakhali Express in the Bangladesh Premier League at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. A dominant all-round performance with both bat and ball ensured an easy win for Dhaka.
After losing the toss and being sent in to bat, Noakhali Express came under pressure from the outset. Losing wickets at regular intervals, they were restricted to 133 for 6 in their allotted 20 overs. Haider Ali top-scored for Noakhali with 47 runs, while Mohammad Nabi contributed 42. Failures from top-order batters, including Soumya Sarkar and Munim Shahriar, prevented Noakhali from posting a competitive total. For Dhaka, Imad Wasim was the most economical bowler, conceding just 16 runs in his four overs while picking up one wicket.
Chasing a modest target of 134, Dhaka Capitals lost Rahmanullah Gurbaz early but quickly took control of the match. Holding one end firmly, Nasir Hossain launched a batting onslaught. He played a brilliant unbeaten knock of 90 off 50 balls, smashing 14 fours and two sixes. Supported by a late cameo from Imad Wasim, who scored 29 runs, Dhaka sealed the victory in just 14.1 overs.
Noakhali’s bowlers failed to mount any significant resistance while defending the target. Although they claimed two early wickets, they were left helpless against Nasir’s dominance in the middle and death overs.
