Saifuddin Ruled Out of Asian Games
Bangladesh national team all-rounder Mohammad Saifuddin has been ruled out of the cricket event at the 20th Asian Games due to a hamstring injury to his right leg. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed the development through a media release on Monday (September 21).
National team physiotherapist Bayezidul Islam Khan stated that Saifuddin experienced pain in his right hamstring while bowling during a training session on September 19. Subsequent physical examinations and an MRI scan confirmed the injury. He will require approximately three weeks of rehabilitation to recover and return to competitive cricket.
The BCB has officially informed the Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) that Saifuddin will be unable to participate in the Asian Games. Subject to approval from the tournament authorities, his replacement will be announced soon.
