Litton Ruled Out from Chattogram Test; Ankon Makes Debut
Proteas captain Aiden Markram won the toss in the second Test of the series in Chattogram and opted to bat first. Jaker Ali Anik, who made his debut in Mirpur, is out of this match due to injury, and Mahidul Islam Ankon has been included in the playing XI in his place. Litton Das is also out due to illness, prompting Bangladesh to field first with three changes in their lineup.
Litton Das has been suffering from fever since last night. With backup wicketkeeper-batter Jaker Ali also unavailable, Mahidul Islam Ankon is making his Test debut on short notice. While Bangladesh played with only one pacer in Dhaka, they have added an extra pacer to the lineup in Chattogram.
In the second Test, middle-order batter and wicketkeeper Mahidul Islam Ankon replaces Jaker Ali Anik, while Zakir Hasan steps in for Litton Das. Additionally, pacer Nahid Rana has been included in place of spinner Nayeem Hasan. The Proteas have also made two changes to their lineup.
In the first Test at the Sher-e-Bangla Stadium in Mirpur, South Africa defeated Bangladesh by 7 wickets. Aiden Markram’s side leads the two-match series 1-0. Out of the 15 Tests played between the two teams so far, South Africa has won 13, while the remaining two ended in draws.
