Lucknow Super Giants, a relatively new franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), has started preparing their squad for the 2025 IPL season. The team, which made its debut in 2022, has retained five players from last season.
Besides West Indies’ Nicholas Pooran, the franchise retained four Indian players: Ravi Bishnoi, Mayank Yadav, Mohsin Khan, and Ayush Badoni.
Nicholas Pooran was retained for a hefty ₹21 crore, the highest in the team. Ravi Bishnoi and Mayank Yadav were each retained for ₹11 crore, while Mohsin Khan and Ayush Badoni were retained for ₹4 crore each.
After spending ₹51 crore on retentions, Lucknow Super Giants have ₹69 crore left in their purse. They will have one Right to Match (RTM) card in the IPL auction.
Lucknow Super Giants did not consider retaining stars like captain KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, Quinton de Kock, and Krunal Pandya, who were part of their squad last year.
