Gujarat Titans Retain 5 Players in IPL 2025
Gujarat Titans, a relatively new franchise in the Indian Premier League (IPL), began shaping their squad for the 2025 IPL season. The team, which won the title in its debut season in 2022, has retained five players from last season.
Besides Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan, the franchise retained four Indian players: Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, and Shahrukh Khan.
The highest retention cost was ₹18 crore for Rashid Khan, while Shubman Gill was retained for ₹16.5 crore. Sai Sudharsan cost ₹8.5 crore, and both Rahul Tewatia and Shahrukh Khan were retained for ₹4 crore each.
After spending ₹51 crore on retentions, Gujarat Titans have ₹69 crore left in their purse. They will have one Right to Match (RTM) card in the IPL auction.
Gujarat Titans did not consider retaining stars like Mohammed Shami and David Miller, who were part of the squad last year.
