Tamim Iqbal has undergone successful heart surgery at KPJ Hospital in Savar, where a ring was placed in his heart to treat a blockage. After the surgery, Tamim's condition is improving, and he is now being closely monitored in the Cardiac Care Unit (CCU).
Sri Lankan cricket legend Lasith Malinga expressed his support for Tamim’s swift recovery through a heartfelt message on his verified Facebook page. Malinga wrote, "Wishing you a speedy and full recovery, Tamim! Keep fighting just like you always do on the field."
The incident occurred when Tamim became seriously ill while attending a Dhaka Premier League (DPL) match at BKSP. After performing the toss for the Mohammedan Sporting Club vs. Shinepukur match, Tamim suddenly fell ill. He was rushed to the nearest hospital for initial treatment, but later returned to BKSP.
As his condition worsened, arrangements were made to transfer him to Dhaka via helicopter for advanced medical treatment. However, his situation became more complicated, and he was taken to the nearest KPJ Hospital and Nursing College. After thorough testing, a blockage in his heart was detected.
Following the doctors' advice, an angiogram was performed, and a ring was inserted in his heart. He is currently under intensive observation by specialist doctors in the CCU, and his health is gradually improving. Fans and the cricket community continue to send their prayers for his speedy recovery.
