The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2026 has attracted massive interest from cricketers around the world, including Bangladesh. More than 650 overseas players have registered for the upcoming edition of the tournament, with 48 Bangladeshi cricketers among them.

Players from all ICC Full Member nations, along with several Associate Member countries, have registered for the sixth edition of the LPL. Among the Full Member nations, Pakistan recorded the highest number of registrations with 102 players. The West Indies contributed 75 players, South Africa 66, Bangladesh 48, New Zealand 41, Australia 24, England 15, and India 12.

Among the Associate Member nations, the highest number of registrations came from the USA, the UAE, and Ireland. Overall, players from 21 cricket-playing nations have registered for this year’s draft.

However, not all registered players will make the final draft list. Following the screening process, only 310 players will be shortlisted for the Lanka Premier League 2026 Player Draft, which is scheduled to take place on 1 June 2026.

Although the LPL is Sri Lanka’s domestic T20 tournament, the presence of international stars has turned it into one of the most popular franchise leagues in world cricket. The 2026 edition of the tournament is set to be held from 17 July to 8 August.
