BCB receives final report from independent investigation committee
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received the final report from the independent investigation committee formed to review matters related to the 2024–25 Bangladesh Premier League (BPL). The board confirmed that the committee operated with full independence and evidence-based methodology, and expressed gratitude to its members for their professionalism and service.
The nearly 900-page report includes findings and reform-oriented recommendations on a wide range of issues, including match-fixing allegations, administrative shortcomings, and other sensitive matters. It also outlines proposals for legal and structural reforms, improved franchise compliance mechanisms, enhanced player protection, better risk monitoring systems, and stronger media engagement and public awareness initiatives.
For reasons of confidentiality and to preserve the integrity of ongoing and potential investigations, the BCB stated that it will not disclose specific allegations or detailed contents of the report. However, the board affirmed that it will take necessary follow-up actions based on the committee’s recommendations, in coordination with relevant authorities and international partners.
In addition, the BCB announced the establishment of a new Bangladesh Cricket Board Integrity Unit, which will operate under the leadership of an independent chairman. The board reiterated its commitment to implementing reforms grounded in transparency and accountability, aiming to safeguard the interests of players, officials, and fans alike.
