In a thrilling final of the Abu Dhabi T10 League, Deccan Gladiators clinched the championship title with a commanding 8-wicket victory over Morrisville Samp Army. Chasing a target of 104 runs, Deccan Gladiators reached the target in just 6.5 overs, thanks to a blistering knock by Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
At the Abu Zayed Stadium, Morrisville Samp Army batted first after losing the toss and managed to score 104 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in their allotted 10 overs. The team’s top scorer was Faf du Plessis, who scored 34 runs off 23 balls. Andres Gause contributed with a quick 21 runs off 9 balls, while Karim Janat added 16 runs in the latter stages.
For Deccan Gladiators, Richard Gleeson stood out with the ball, claiming 2 wickets. Maheesh Theekshana, Anrich Nortje, Usman Khan, and Ebrahim each took one wicket.
Chasing a modest target of 105, Deccan Gladiators started explosively with an opening partnership of 51 runs off 20 balls between Kohler-Cadmore and Nicholas Pooran. Pooran smashed 28 runs off 10 balls before getting dismissed. Kohler-Cadmore continued his onslaught, reaching his half-century in style.
Rilee Rossouw and Jos Buttler chipped in with quick contributions, both scoring 12 runs off 5 balls. Buttler sealed the victory and the title with a six off Qais Ahmad. Kohler-Cadmore remained unbeaten on 56 runs off just 21 balls, hitting 5 fours and 4 sixes.
